Just in case someone has been looking for the 12 part magazine series, I have listed them (all 12 issues) on eBay Motors under "FORD Y-BLOCK" parts.

Daniel: I see the mags went for $ 56.00. I'd have thought they might bring more than that. I suspect that some Y-block owners, who are redoing an engine, don't appreciate the info available in that series.. Other than the similar 1999 Street Rodder series, thats all that's out there folks!.. ( the Popular Hot rodding stuff of the 1970s is quite flawed)  I wonder if we could get John Gilbert to dig that stuff out of his publishers archives & somehow get the series copied and available at a livable price. Many here could benefit from the info.  Any thoughts ?..

Paul,

Better yet, an update/compilation (with corrections and more detail) of info from BOTH series would be in order. Maybe if Doc F. still works there?

Daniel; just for info, a follow up & Dyno test with Doc Frohmader, was  eventually done & published in the May 2003 issue of Street Rodder. It was on page 188, entitled Y-Power...

Gee if we only new someone at "Classic Trucks" magazine that could republish the articles in "Y-Block" magazine or "Legendary Fords" magazine. Wouldn't that be great! Chuck in NHWink

Daniel ; (late reply) No I've never heard of the Rod & Custom, Mar 2002 Y-Blk Revisited article.  Is it worth having?..(undoubtedly out of print now).  The only other stuff recently done was in Ford Builder Mag some time back, but was off the mark in several areas. I wrote to them, but got no reply.

Gee I have an idea! Maybe our "Guru's" should do a proper build up for "Legendary Ford" magazine? How about it Ted, John, John, Frank, etc. etc. Lots ok know how out there why shouldn't it be done by real Y-Blockers and not scrub pretenders? Chuck

PS: I'd even let you build me a motor as the "Project" piece. Tongue

Paul,

Nothing new really (except the minor errors). If you are interested though, specify an e-Mail address and I could scan and send it.
