Hello. I'm new at the forum. English is not my first language, so please forgive my mistakes when writing. I´m from far away, Argentina. I own a 1955 Ford Victoria hardtop, which is in driveable condition and I'm doing my best to keep it as original as possible. The car is equipped with power steering and it has the original eaton pump. The pump needs a rebuilt, as it is noisy and doesn't develop enough pressure when hot. I can´t rebuild the pump here, because there are no spare parts. So I'm thinking about shipping the pump to a professional rebuilder in the US. Does anybody knows someone specialized in rebuilding this pump? I will really appreciate your help.

There are several companies in the U.S. that make rebuild kits for the Eaton pumps. So instead of shipping the entire pump to the U.S. for a rebuild, why couldn't you purchase a rebuild kit and rebuild it or have it rebuilt in Argentina? Mac's Antique Auto Parts is one of those companies. What a great photo! I like the B+W effect.Great choice of background too.Just a thought.You may find that the rest of the system may need to be resealed once you get the pump fixed up.More consistent and higher pressure may be too much for the original seals in the ram and control valve.I believe the same company can do the rest of the components also if needed.

the above links may be of interest. I've just been through a rebuild couldn't afford a profesional rebuilt pump. I found the rebuild kits not quite right for my pump,oil seals were "o"rings and mine were flat rubber washers so i got a local rubber supplier to make some. Seems most of the rubber suppliers are set up to cut washers for pennys. I asked for Buna Nitrile 70 grade.My pump has a ball race and oil seal on the shaft where the pulley mounts and i sourced these from a local bearing supply house as the ones in the 2 kits i purchased were not correct.

The real problem is if the "cam kit" is worn. Mine is a rotor and roller running in an internal cam.The cam looked ok, the rollers showed signs of the hard chrome breaking up so i had them rechromed. That was the most expensive part of the operation. The rotor shows signs of wear but nobody i've aproached wants to do a one off machine job.

If you see any one advertising the cam kit make sure its the same as yours. I found one but when it arrived it was 2 tenths thinner than mine

Something I discovered when using a rebuild kit to reseal a weeping pump was the large diameter O ring for the pump halves had a round profile instead of a square profile, which the factory O ring had. I was never able to get it sealed. I found a later pump at swap meet which worked fine.

I tried to get the pump rebuilt here but the rebuilder told me that parts included in the kit are not enough, as there are other internal components that worn out and are not provided in the kit.

Your 55 Victoria looks just like my first car, bought for $600.00 in 1961.
