They do today, But the majority are, of course, front wheel drive. The Trucks and the mustang are RWD but all are computer controlled and to my knowledge, there are no adapters available.

The AOD, done correctly, is an excellent transmission. I had one, done by Lentech in Canada, behind an 11 second Ford Ranger for 8 years, never had any problem with it. You biggest issue would be to decide which adapter to use. I, personally would lean toward the Bristol version because I've heard some horror stories about the others, and Gary Croan has supported our Y blocks for quite a while. But, none of the adapters are cheap in a very limited market like Y-Blocks.
