A friend in Wash state is doing a resto on a 55 Crown Victoria. The car is dismantled. He asked if I knew what the correct casting #s were for the exhaust manifolds. The car is a "U" code, but I don't have a reference for that. (?)  I have the exhaust manifold part numbers  from Eickman's book, for Fairlane series & Station Wagons, L H - B6A 9431-A & B7A 9431-A for Std & O.D. trans.  R H - C2AZ 9430-A, but they aren't much use at this point in time. Anybody have a reference for casting numbers? thanks..

Paul,

The numbers you refer to do not correspond with the years you are describing. For the mid 50's there was no number code, it would start with something like EBU or ECZ. in the later 50's they came out with the numbering system to correspond with the years.

IE. B9AE translates to B=1950's, 9=year 1959, the AE I believe stands for Auto Engine.

In the 60's the everything made starts with the letter C.

IE. C1TE = 1960's era, year 1961, TE I believe stands for Truck Engine.

so the numbers you are refering to from Eikman's book do not appear to correspond with 55 parts.

The "U" you refer to means it came with a 272.

55 Vicky & customline

58 Rack Dump, 55 F350 yard truck, 57 F100

59 & 61 P 400's, 58 F100 custom cab, 69 F100, 79 F150, 82 F600 ramp truck, 90 mustang conv 7 up, 94 Mustang, Should I continue?

Billy & Carl: Thanks for your input, yes one of the #s I gave you is definately incorrect. My mistake. However, it seems like Eickmann's book is either incorrect or has ommissions on exhaust manifolds. I think my friend might be better off contacting the CVA on this subject..
