Yes, But don't do it. Get new ones from Mummert or Schumann, or somebody in Aus. The regrounds do not have a good reputation.

disagree, if they are refaced corectly they are good as new,2 local cam grinders re face with no isues.they are convex just like new.
have used them on several yblocks,also when working for cat dealer in victoria canada we used them on 3208 engines that used a cast iron cam.reground cam and lifters. we did 1 per week for 3 years,never had a cam failure

I thought that new lifters, at least in the "old days" were hardened with a special heat and quenching process and that re-grinding stock lifters, even if the concave shape is maintained, causes a loss in hardness. I don't know if that was because the lifter material was different back then and that process is not needed in today's (USA) steel. I wouldn't assume that overseas, aftermarket steel is at the same standard.

If they are case hardened, cutting through the hardened surface would essentially destroy them.
One could re-harden them but you'd have to get it right.

I should add that I don't know if they were case hardened or not.

With the complexity of camshaft and lifter replacement in a Y-Block, this should be the very last place we try to save a few bucks. As long as new lifters are avialble, buy them. Resurfaced lifters should be the last choice on anything but a stock rebuild with a used cam. With today's oils being down on zinc, the lack of hardness on reground lifter faces could very well lead to premature cam & lifter failure. Not anything you want to face after laying out money for a rebuild.
