Yeah...I know that the ports on the 553 are smaller then the 573 but what's up with the 354?

I always thought that the 354 was for the 54 239/256 with the real small ports. As you know, using a 54 manifold in a later Y and vice versa is dicey . Edelbrock must have found this out when trying to fit the 54 manifold on a 55.

The port sizes are the big difference between the manifolds. There’s also a strong possibility that the FM354 manifold will have some intake gasket sealing issues if trying to use it on the larger port heads as that intake was specifically designed for the 239 & 256 Y heads. The 355 intake will have slightly better driving manners (increased lowend torque values) while the 357 intake will produce the best peak power numbers. Here’s the link to the post showing the low rpm results of the dyno test where several different three deuce intakes were pitted against each other. .. http://forums.y-blocksforever.com/FindPost40720.aspx

I'm running the FM354 in my truck. I now have G heads on it so I glued a 239 intake gasket to a 292 intake gasket to fix the port missmatch.

The reason why I had asked is because I had noticed that intake on ebay aswell. I will be running a 292 so I will need to run a bigger port such as the 553 or 573
