Just bought a 58 pickup engine (292) and was wondering if the oil pan would fit on the early Birds? It is a rear sump but looks a little deeper towards the front of the pan that goes over the crossmember on a Bird.Just curious. Bud in AZ

The truck pan won't fit the Birds without making it shallower in the front like the Bird pan.

Here’s the link to some pictures of the various rear sump pans. As John brings up, the Thunderbird oil pan is shallower at the front than the pickup and truck pans.
