I'm trying to locate a replacement for the sheet metal panel that goes between the hood and the grille (and between the headlights) on the 1957 Ford. I have never seen it listed on a vendor site and have searched for it on Ebay BUT I don't know what it's called, so maybe I've just missed it!
What is that panel called?
Where can I get a replacement?
Thanks guys.

I know exactly what piece you're talking about. I got one from a buddy who 40 years ago had a 57 and got one to replace his, but got rid of the car. Has the F O R D letters on it. We called it a nose-piece, but that's probably not the real name. Good luck.

The piece is called a nose panel by some and an upper grill panel by others. The T-bird vendors have them for birds but don't know a source for the car.

They are not repo'ed, but do show up on Ebay on occasion. Try over @ 57Fords International, some of those guys don't get on here often and may be able to help you.

Thanks Glen, that's a big chunk of what I wanted to know. I'm kind of surprised no one is repo'ing them. But, what that tells me is I need to either get lucky finding a good one (they seem to be uncommon) or else fabricate/repair what I have.
I'll check out 57 Fords International too!

I may be wrong but I think they are sometimes referred to as header panels.

If you're still looking, there's some guy in South Dakota on Ebay that has one of those panels listed. Looks rusty but serviceable with an opening bid of around 50 bucks. Shipping seems a little pricey but the estimate might be based on my zip code. (east coast) auction #281285166221
