Upgrading Y Block Dizzy with updated Distributer. When I removed it, the long shaft that fits into the end of the oil pump came with it. If I remember correctly, there is a clip on the oil pump end that is supposed to keep the end of the shaft connected to the oil pump. If there is nothing on the rod that connectes the bottom of the distributer to the oil shaft, do I have to remove the oil pump and hook it back up from that end before installing a new distributer?

There is a pointed end on this rod. The one I removed had the pointed end installed in the distributer end shaft. If I remember correctly, this is correct?

Im planning on just swapping out the stock distributer with a newer one that will be compatible with four barrell intake and carb. I should be able to use the stock shaft that connects the distributer to the oil pump, correct?
