I picked up a motor last night for $100. Came with an engine stand too. What do you think it came out of? It has double pulley on the crank and triple on the water pump. The generator is a monster with a double pulley also. It has a real wide motor mount up front. Block B9AE  heads C0TE.

Dennis:

My guess is large truck or school bus, maybe even with air brakes.

Definitely a medium duty truck- think F/C-600.

Large truck or school bus. I have seen that kind of setup also in Fire Engines of the period.... believe it or not. My take is that the large generator would help handle all of those lights and flashers. I did find on Craigslist (up in PA even I believe) that there is a 64? fire engine for sale that has the 292 in it. That front motor mount sure looks like the 60's trucks front mount...

By the way - NICE score!

I cleaned the tops of 2 pistons that were up and found no oversize markings. It measures standard 292 size. I'm guessing it's never been rebuilt. If it was a big truck motor, never rebuilt, a fire engine would make sense.
