Hello. I am building a 1931 Model A coupe on 32 rails with a 292 Y block and a T-5  trans. I am using a 292 out of a 63 truck and have a passenger car bell housing with a Mummert adapter to a Mustang T-5. I have it mocked up now and am seeing allot of clearance issues that are arising between the side mount motor mounts, o/e ram's horn manifolds and the oil filter. I am just weighing my options at this point. I could always run a different set of manifolds / reds type header and get more clearance but I like the ram's horns. One option I am looking at is building a Hurst type front mount, but with a passenger car bell there isn't a good way to support the added stress at the bell housing. My question is, is it necessary to have a mount at the bellhousing with a steel bell housing or will it handle the stress of the long span of the front mount and using only the rear trans mount? I have seen where allot of pepole say it can't be done with an aluminum bell but where mine is steel is it ok?
