I have never seen one on an engine that you could move.
I agree with your decision regarding retaining the cross-over pipe.
With the selector lever, transmission dipstick and steering shaft all being on the right hand side, there is buggar all room for getting anything short of a custom made pipe down there.
Aussie Bill's extractors would obviously have fitted but he stopped making these years ago.
