I am trying to compensate for the added pulley offset required when using an Innovators West damper. Could someone please tell me the thickness of the Thunderbird water pump spacer. Thank You in advance. Craig

1"  Probably too thick and that spacer is not the best idea for cooling.  It will be best to space out the pulley or find a pulley that will work or have a custom pulley made.

I bought one of the innovators west dampers but decided to go with one of the steel ones from john m. As I recall it moves the pulleys forward.

I have the water pump spacers in aluminum if you go that way.

Thanks Charlie, The engine that I will eventually bebuilding will be for propelling my 1955 Mainline in short distance sprints of440 yards. I currently have about 1 3/4 of an inch of misalignment.  With a water pump spacer and Innovators Westshorting the removable damper hub, I can get them aligned.

Yes the lower pulley is set forward. I have not measured howmuch compared to factory damper.

HiFrank, I would be interested in one of your spacers. I already have one of yourwater pumps and timing covers. The spacer would blend in with the rest of thealuminum. I will try to PM you. Are you using any other non standard parts for the car?  Maybe it's the pulley you're using?
Innovators West also sell a  5.5" dia. 1/2" groove v belt pulley which is very thin.  5.5" should be great for strip, not for street.  With a thin pulley, it should be .500 to .750 difference from stock.

The day I removed the Tbird spacer was the last time I had overheating issues with the stock water pumps. An aluminum spacer to move the pulley forward on the water pump would make more sense to me.
