Today I started to take my new 56 apart.
I pulled the Edelbrock carb & adapter from the manifold,
then took out the distributor.
Low and behold the dist has a Pertronix inside, so I save
myself a hundred bucks. Good deal.
Now, this car ran really bad/lazy. The original dist (loada)
was connected to the carb with one vacuum line to the smaller
of the two vacuum chambers. The vacuum signal was hooked up
to a ported vacuum on the carb.
The distributor seems to be OK internally, but I'm wondering where
to get info on what the correct springs should be for the Loadamatic
to work with a stock carb? And, How to check the distributor for
proper operation?
Any advice?
Thanks
Jim
