Dan, just consider that my contribution to higher education for this week. Maybe the kids will learn something and have fun doing it. Who knows, fifty years from now one of them maybe as crazy about these old engines as the rest of us are.

Not sure what happened on the email, Glen, but the heads did work out well. Ted calculated the static compression ratio to 9.4 if memory serves. Allows pump premium gas and not blowing headgaskets. 56 Runs great. Still tweaking distributor and carb. Later, TC

eek...checked one lifter for crown and it looks flat, I am guessing the crown should be perceptable when a straightedge is plced across it? The part we need is the aluminum piece that holds the rear seal-

Hi Tom, I have pushrods, seal retainer, pistons, cam and lifters, truck timing chain and gears. Still not clear if he needs a rear main cap or not but I will throw one in. Ted tells me that the heads worked out real well for you and seem to have solved your problem.
