Hi Sam,  I don't have an extra one of those special wires for the fork or I would mail you one.  They show a picture in the Casco T-Bird catalog, p/n 7562 but they don't offer it for sale.  However if you call them and ask for their used parts department, they may have one.  800-374-0914.  It is listed in the Tee-Bird Products catalog as p/n 7562A, they call it a "spring, clutch release anti-rattle" for $4.45, their number is 800-423-3723 in PA.  Have fun, Nick in K.C.

Do you have the wire that holds the fork to the bellhousing? Without this you will have this trouble. They are kind of hard to find. Some one here should have one.

On my 1955 there was a heavy wire which wrapped around the fork and held it on to the pivot. I did not take it off to look but i had to replace the throw out bearing because i broke an ear off the part that holds it on to the fork when I was putting the engine back in.

I have been working on a 55 crown.  Today i drove it out of my shop for a test drive ..Stopped to close the door , started the car and could not shift into low  ...After checking everthing under the hood, looked ok ,  jacked the car up and went under the car.  about that time a friend came by and had him in the car to work the clutch.....adjusted the the clutch rod , started the car and now the clutch would not dis-engage....back under the car again , pulled the dust cover ,    found problem......the clutch fork will not stay on the pivot points..  They seem very small, about the size of a beebee.    anybody run into this problem befor ?  I hate to pull the trans out ,  i put it together on the floor and installed the motor and trans together....Let me know of any ideas.....Thanks in advance....Sam.....................Florida ...west central
