Thanks for the reply. I realized that I had some water pumps to look at and discovered that they had the mounting hole for the power steering.
The parts I salvaged included the lower iron pulley, the power steering bracket and the large bolt that goes through the top hole in the bracket. That's all that was there.

The brackets will unbolt from the water pump.Just a suggestion:make sure you get everything off this car as far as mounting hardware(nuts and bolts etc) and if the pulley on damper is there get it also.Maybe someone can post a diagram from the parts book or shop manual showing mounting parts.The water pumps are all the same.Hope this helps

I'm salvaging parts off of a 56 sedan that had power steering. I have no experience with power steering bracketry on a y-block and found that the bracket that I pulled off was actually integrated with the pump. Is the pump rare enough to want to pay for it, too?
