I thought the engine guys would get a kick out of this, I know I did. A 91 year old gentelman came into our shop last week and wanted to know if we could bore an engine for him, I said "Yes, what kind of engine?"

Well here is what he brought in. It's a 1902 Rambler, single cylinder OHV, 5" bore 6" stroke (117ci is what I came up with) He said it was hard to start and needed to have a new oversize piston. We didn't have one on the shelf, and Egge couldn't make one with the correct comp. hieght, it's probably only 4:1 as it is. So it gets a sleeve and a new set of rings.

I haven't seen the car yet, but the old guy said I could come look at it when he gets it back together. I imagine it is something like a "Curved Dash Olds" he did say it has a tiller bar instead of a steering wheel. When I do go see the car I will take pictures and post them.

I think this has happened to all of us... as a young man we all were keen on new cars, then we got a little more age and focused to a bit older cars and used those as a daily drivers and now after few years, fresh cars just don't get our attention . Every old thing is interesting ( exept old ladies ) and is worth atleast a thought .

the thing i find as interesting as the engine is the guys 91 & restoring this thing hell if i make it too 91 i think i will be lucky to remember i even had a y-block.
