The other day I got a B9AE block out of a 60? Ford truck. Brought it to the garage, scraped off the grease and crud, etc. Here is what I found - one side had the 5750...471

head, and the other side had the B9TE...6090 head with the large "S"

cast onto the head right underneath the rocker arm assembly. My assumption is that these heads are not of the same compression - right? I have a G head that is very usable. Would that work with the B9TE head?
I am building a 312 from a 292 block, 312 crank and rods, mild cam, etc.
Any suggestions here? And how did this truck run with mismatched heads?
thanks, Dan
