I just found out what I thought was a 292 turned out to be a block cast with "EBY". All this time, I have been moving forward as if I had a 292. John Mummert Ram Horn exhaust fit, intake manifold ECZ 9425-B swapped out ok (500 Edelbrock Thunder Series Carb), GM one wire alterntor, new oil pump, and YBlock Moon Valve Covers all seem to fit fine. Somewhere along the line I thought I had a 292 which appears to be a 1954 Mercury 256 V-8. What exactly do I have here and is it worth keeping or should I be looking for a 292 to swap it out?
