It has been some time since I updated you guys with our progress, so here goes - not much has happened lately The wheels of progress turn slow in the school world at times! The block is patiently waiting the last few bits and pieces it needs before assembly. Budget constraints mean we have had to be patient with getting the few remaining things we need, but it is close! I am trying to get everything on hand so once assembly starts we dont have to stop till done. Still need to locate some carbs for our 3x2 intake, but that wont keep us from getting it built and fired up as we have the stock intake and carb we can use (probably be easier for the inital start up him one carb anyhow...) Still need to figure out some exhaust, I have one good dual exhaust manifold but am missing the other, I had a student milling out some header flanges but they are a long from being done and he is busy with a project of his own right now. Other than that, I we need to find a generator and bracket, dipstick and tube (are there two different style, one that goes in the block and one that goes in the front by the timing cover???) a timing pointer and a single belt crank pulley, water pump pulley and fan and we should be good to go. Think we have almost everything to finish the rebuild itself, have to wait and see what shows up in the last batch of parts I ordered. Anyhow thanks a ton for all the help and info, I'll get some pics up when its all put together! The students' 292 has been plauged with some leaky gaskets, vauum leaks, etc. He is in the process of getting those sorted out. I would like to get a video for you guys when he gets it running good...

Dan, I found a 4-blade fan, fan blade extension and pulley. If you still need them, I will put them in the mail asap. No charge of course. Let me know....................

Dan, Found an extra crank pulley/damper and a timing pointer. Please let me know if you still need them before I ship them off.

I *THINK* the only engine parts we need are freeze plugs, an exhaust manifold and maybe an odd gasket or two, been busy with chassis and havent looked at our engine stuff in awhile. Thank you so much to everyone on this board for your awesome genorosity, this project would not be possible without it!!! Here are the pics of the roadster the kids are working in shop, its rough but they are making progress. The decklid and dash were made by the students as was the frame. We plan to run a 292/fordomatic. We welcome any comments, concerns, ideas, etc...

Dan: The school year is heading for the homestretch. I hope those students are not all seniors, so they can see the projects through to completion. I see the roadster has an early Ford rear axle. Is it open driveshaft or torque tube? If it is torque tube, are you going to adapt it to the back of the FOM? Let us know what else you need, one of us is sure to have it laying around. Best of luck.

We are going to convert to open drive when the time comes. I am going to loose a bunch of good seniors but I have a bunch of good underclassmen coming up. I fight fires in the summer so the project will have to sit in the shop til next school year but I think we are making good progress. We do need one more carb for 3x2 setup and just a few other minor things and I think we are going to be good to go engine wise. Thanks again to everyone for the incredible genorosity!

Dan: Which ixhaust manifold do you need? Does it have to be the slightly larger '57 and later one? Do you have any welding students in case all I can find is a damaged one?
