My Technocarb lpg mixer arrived the other day, nice chunky piece of billet alloy, only seen pictures before I ordered it. If it works as good as it looks it'll be a winner.

Hi Lon, rebuild is taking longer than I had planned, usual problem, no money!!  nothing special in the engine, just the usual decking of the block, bigger valves, 4 barrel manifold etc etc. Engine is going to be straight LPG, has Crow lpg cam and will be redoing the dissy curve to suit, The technocarb mixer is sold by Torquegas in Caloundra.

how is your F100 progressing?

That is a nice looking piece. I don't know how much experience you have running LPG but I hope you have the right parts in your heads. I work on a lot of LPG engines and they are murder on valves, seats and guides. I'm not against LPG, it's a great fuel, just make sure your motor is built for it.  Wink

Tim,

Don't no about taxi's in USA,but down here, they all run on LPG . Many of them seem to do a lot of miles ( or kilometers ) 300K miles is not uncommon.A mate of mine a few years ago had a 39 C%$V with a 302 Windsor in it .It ran really big compression and went real hard as well .

Over here I see LPG mostly on farm trucks and water pump engines, all I was saying was that it is hard on the engines not that it didn't run well.

Don't worry every thing is built with lpg in mind, hardened seats, late model valves etc.   forgot to mention before, the mixer is the 570 cfm version. A lot of the forum are probably thinking WHY lpg instead of petrol. Running costs are the main reason, at the moment   unleaded is $1.25/litre  lpg, 47 cents/litre.

We are paying (in my town) $2.55 now and rising for the summer, they like to stick it to us when vacation time comes  Wink they tell us in CA that they are reformulating the fuel for less emissions in the summer heat. I'm not sure what LPG is going for the last time I filled my BBQ tank I just traded for a new full one, mine was a little rusty $18 for the five gallon tank. I know it's cheeper to just buy the fuel.
