Hi ted, as usual you,re on the job, for over a year or so, only 2 profiles have been represented in australia, that pesky drag racer and shane hill, so i guess jim may be able to get the others up. the sites sure getting busy with new members finding their way with these engines and cars, i think we all can picture back when we were trying to work things out at that age, oh! i miss that!. Thought the guys might like a peak at latest project?

Hi dave, good eyes, yes its a 30 A model coupe, chopped 3" channeled 4". my plan is C2AE  292 with this 4.71 blower and CRAGAR blower intake, they are scarce for sure! running 4 speed top loader with jeep shift lid fitted to box, so shifter sticks out of box like early ford. cant tell you too much more, there could be spys out there! I,.m more worried about new envisaged rego laws and may be harder to get registered, so i,m going like hell to get it finished and see what happens. May see you at Valla run soon? Best regards, aussie bill. OR i might go this way.

Tim, yes the poor old SU carb has been much underestimated and misunderstood, they are a simple carb and this setup ran really strong on 56 customline in the 70,s. I used to convert any single su british car set up to twin su,s in the 70,s and made great improvements.  best one i did was twin Vertical su,s from very early wolsley onto triumph herald, i know you would have enjoyed that, Best regards aussiebill

Bill,

I agree about the SUs, too many people don't understand them so that makes them junk.  I think they are a fine and simple carb, I replaced the single Solex on Kathys Herald with a dual set up off a Spitfire and I run a single HD8 on the Supercharged TR6.  I also think the Quadra-jet is one fine carburetor but they too take a lot of bad mouthing.  Ignorance breeds contempt, something every Y guy should be use to.  Tongue
