I'm in Dearborn at my daughters. She has a 2001 Dodge Caravan (not my fault) that appears to have a bad fuel pump. Local shop gave her an estimate and said the timing belt had to be changed too. The belt is not broken but I don't know if it jumped. Anyone have experience with this job? I know the pump is in the tank and the belt is buried.
Do any of you guys know of a honest
mechanic around here you could recommend? I'm probably going to have to have the work done somewhere. Estimate started at $1500 but went down (at the same shop) to $600. I find the quick change of price suspicious. Help! Chuck in Dearborn (this week)
Y's guys rule!
