I just received an interesting item on I bought on Ebay. Its an information booklet authored by the chief engine engineer at Ford in 1954.The book was published to give out at the SAE(Society of Automobile Engineers) convention in January 1954.This illustrated book explains the engineering features and the goals of the new 239 Y-block motor. The design of the Y-block actually started in 1946 with the aim of putting it in the 54 model year.I find it very interesting.Explains the workings of the valve rotators, lubrication system including full flow oil filter, the over and under intake manifold runners, and how its engineered for future higher compression etc.A real insight into what the engine guys at Ford were trying to accomplish.Only 13 pages but great pics and diagrams. The book was for others at the convention to provide wriitten responses to and I would guess suggestions.Item# on Ebay was 220484482435 if anyone wants to have a look.
