I can't copy and paste anything, (including URLs, which are a pain to type). Whenever I try to post anything that has even one character that's been pasted, it gives me an error message.

I have the most problems when posting a long reply. I try to remember to copy and paste the reply to MS Word before posting. If it disappears, I can pull up the copy and paste it in a new reply window. Usually works.

Had a difficult time getting to the forum today. Re-booted with no improvement. 1/2 hour later it was okay.

Howdy people,

A few things that might help.....

1. Ensure that you are using the latest version of (ugh!) Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera, or Safari. I use Firefox with ADBLOCK Plus.

Internet Explorer has it's own unique problems

2. Ensure that you have the latest version of Adobe Flash, Sun Java Virtual Machine.....

3. If you're using MS Winblows, Absolutely ensure that you have a good virus program installed and the latest virus and system updates (XP, Vista, or "7") , you have recently cleared the browser cache, done a system clean-up, and recently de-fragged your drive (not needed with Linux or a Mac). If you're using WIN98 or earlier no one can help you!!

One of the things that slows down a site loading is ads. some or all of them use Flash-videos which use a lot of download 'bandwidth. If you're on a rather slow DSL connection or a dialup connection you waste a large portion of your bandwidth downloading the ads. Firefox with Adblock plus eliminates most or all of the ads.

I am running openSUSE 11.2 64bit Linux on my Laptop with Firefox 3.6 and Adblock Plus. I don't have ANY problems with any websites.....

Cheers,

Rick

I too have all the problems listed above, in fact I had written a longer response and posted it but it never showed up... This is the only site I have problems with, thought it was because I wasn't using a belly button WinTel machine, lol.

Go to messages. On the left you will see a block for "Empty PM Folders". Click that, then click the box on the right of the "deleted items" folder. The click "empty selected" at the bottom of the page. Hope this helps. Chuck in NH

Its definately the best place to be. I tried last night again to answer this and post a few pictures and it failed on my reply without pictures.

I think HRM and the scrub guru's have bought into microsoft and are trying to shut our communication down, as Jerry's shirt implied "Were Back" and they are scared.

I too run into a random problem where the site just stands still and eventually logs me out.  Seems to last 20-25 minutes when it does happen but I can go to other sites while the YBF site is standing still.  When the site does come back to life I find that I am logged out.  Only happens once or twice a week but the problem does invariably show back up when least expected.  Because I typically only log in during the mornings, this is when I experience the ‘site inactive’ or ‘standing still’ problems but from the sounds of it, there is a some kind of a problem that is occurring around the clock.

In talking to Jim about this in the past, it seems to be related to the host server and not the site code itself but there’s no active monitoring of the site for that specific problem.  On my end, I’ve started a log of the dates and times this happens to me.  Likewise, I’ll suggest the same of you that are having lockup problems with the YBF site in keeping a log of the dates and times this occurs.  This may help in isolating the problem.  Collecting data for a couple of weeks and posting it back on this thread may help in finding a solution to the problem.

I have had problems occasionally with lock up, and I don't  post pictures.  Sometimes I get a message "Bad response from server", and as others, I can go to another site.  I got a PM this morning from a guy who can't log in, and I tried to answer him and couldn't.  I don't know enough about computers to help him.
