I have a 292 in a '64 F-100. I am transplanting it into a 60s car. I was always counting on modifying the motor mounts in the truck to do this, but after examining it the transmission has a crossmember, but the engine crossmember is not there. The engine is supported by a plate mounted to the front and then to the front of the front clip, just below the radiator mounts.
Is this a good thing? Should I adapt this motor plate for the new car, or seek out some motor mounts and use those? Bear in mind, the new car has no frame (it's a 63 Fairlane).
