I started my 1955 Mercury Monterey today!!! It has been sitting for 17 years!! Started up and revved, idled, and purred like a kitten (aside from the valves that need adjustment). Replaced the water pump, fuel pump, master cylinder/booster, cleaned the fuel lines, cleaned the brake lines, cleaned the hell out of the gas tank, new sending unit, new spark plugs, wires, and tons more stuff I'm sure I've forgotten. I want to send out a huge THANK YOU TO Randy Rundle for supplying me with all the necessary equipment to get her from 6 volts to 12 volts, John - "The Hoosier Hurricane", Daniel Tinder, McTim64 "The Y Block Guy" and everyone else for all your helpful tips and knowledgable insight!!!! Thanks guys!!!!!
I first found this beauty with rat sh*t all over the motor, rusting in a side yard with weeds and vines literally growing all in/outside of it. Without all of you, it would not have gotten this far, nor would have ever seen the road again!!! Not too shabby for a 25 year old with his first Y-block!!
