Always thought mine leaked from inside but where it mates to block, gasket failed and oil ran down the back
outside of tube and looked as if was dripping from
inside tube.
Looks like this just in case you haven't had yours apart in awhile. Gasket pictured bottom left caused leak but make sure small return tube is cleaned out
I'm pretty slow but expect to have engine back in car this week. Hope it is OK for me to share this little bit of information and it would be nice if it could help someone with messy oil leak.
