I just received my Goodyear racing tires for the BonnevilleComet and I want the letters to be painted white.  The common practice is to use asphalt striping paint.  It's a little rubbery and sticks to most anything.  It is inexpensive and comes in a spray can.  It might even make great white walls???  I bought mine from a local street maintenance supplier.

Jep, one of our buddies here tried that paint also and he had similar problems with colour dropping off after few months. But, those wheels looked great after they were just painted. I have done couple of sets by grinding original white walls wider and that works also. White is white and it gets dirty no matter is it paint or rubber.

Your way to cut the tapes was excellent. Thanks for sharing.

While this isn't specific to Y-Block specific cars, the subject was my '56 Thunderbird. Since most american Y cars are of the wide whitewall period I thought some would like to see this. Mainly an calculated risk, and an explanation of how I got from point "A" to "B"...using the "White Tire Paint" from Iceland...

(if this belongs somwhere else other than technical, I apologize)
