ok so im interested in building a very torque Y-block using a 59 block and heads out of a F100. Now im more interesting in generating low end torque rather than high hp numbers which is kinda backwards from most builds on here. so im gunna need some help on this but i have some ideals.
1. increase stroke, i know longer strokes often make more torque lower in the rpm range so what the best way to do this.
Option 1. offset grind my existing crank. Probably cheapest but im unsure what else would be required. Would i have to use different rods and pistons?
option 2. 312 crank turned down. about the same amount of unknowns.
option 3. Mummert stroker kit. Most expensive out right but the easiest.
2. Intake manifold. most aftermarket one are designed for high revving hp so whats the best option for low end performance. Stock two barrel, stock 4 barrel, 2x3(for low end and wot??)??
3. Exhaust. What size of pipes, 2.25 duals, 2.5 single???
4.Cam choice. Im guessing something pretty mild??
this motor will be going into a 4x4 truck rarely revved higher than 4000. Truck will be a manual also if that matters. Any advice you experts out there can offer would be great. Thanks and sorry for all the questions.
