Check that the fuel level sight plugs are both at the same level.  The secondary bowl sight plug is sometimes placed at a lower level than the front one.  Other than this, the bowls can be physically switched end for end but this puts both of the fuel inlets on the same side as the throttle linkage which can be a problem in itself depending upon how you route the fuel lines.  It also puts the fuel level sight plugs on the throttle linkage side for what that’s worth.

Richard - I don't think I've seen what you are asking about done before - and there have been enough people interested in such a move, it must have been tried out.

This Autolite Ford spec Holley carb has a front bowl with both left and right side attachments - that's what you need.... and I think I've seen them offered on ebay - maybe there is a chance you could snag one.

I have a 600 cfm Double pumper, the fuel inlet lines face the right side of my motor. The floats look the same, can I simply swap sides so the fuel line inlet is on the left side of the motor.

Thank you,

Richard
