Hi, my name is Lucas, I have a 79 292 y-block, which i'm considering to do some working, and adding more horsepower. Here's what i think:

-Increase the compression ratio, from 7,8:1 to 9 or maybe 10:1.

-Holley 4 barrel 600cfm (I'm using a 2barrel 350cfm).

-Work on cylinder heads, valves, etc

-Eletric fan

I already use electronic ignition, with high power coil, but feel the lack of power on my engine, seems like this engine gives like 100hp at most...

Well, but my doubt is about the cam, I took a look on summit racing, and there is too many options for a y-block noob, so I figured to get some tips here...

Here's a pic of my engine:

Thanks !
