Just got the CASCO 1" smaller water pump pulley. HAS to be iron! Is it my imagination, or wasn't the original part steel? Much as I'd like the increased pump speed, seems like the extra weight will just cancel out what I saved with Franks' aluminum pump. Pro or Con? Will the added weight/flywheel effect help to stabilize the six-blade clutch fan I'm also installing, or just wear the pump bearings out faster? Have to wonder (if part was custom made for/by them), why iron instead of billet alum.? It wasn't cheap.
