I heard that the 312 was last used in the 60 merc and found a 60 wagon in a local junkyard that has a Y block,it has a 2 bbl carb and would that be correct for that car and since 60 is when the heads went to the smaller valves in the Fords would that be the same with the merc.  I would like to get it for the crank and do need a set of better heads for a 292 but dont know if I want to go though all the trouble to get the motor out if it has the small valve heads since trees would need to be cut down to get at it,I am going back next saturday and will look it over more closely.
