How do you remove the plate from the block that a spin on oil filter seals against? I removed the center fastener and cannot get the plate off.
thanks

The only thing holding the plate in place is the bolt. There is a seal behind the plate that may be holding it to the block.Try working a thin blade scraper around the edge of the plate between it and the block.
