Im working on two cars with y blocks right now, one is a 1956 ford fairlane with a 292 yblock/fordomatic. The other is a 1960 f100 with also a 292 yblock and fordomatic. Im trying to clean up the blocks and i don't want to run the road draft tubes on the side of the block and i dont want any breathers or any holes in the valve covers. Can't i just run a plate under the carb and have that hose run from the plate to a pcv valve on the back of the valley pan? Also the vaccum line from the dizzy would screw into the plate on the carb that the fuel bowl screws to?
If anyone here can post pics of your own pcv setups that would be great. Also how were the pcv setups on 63 and up cars and trucks? Would i need to get a valley cover from one of those later y blocks that had the road draft tube in the back?

From what I seen the trucks only got the PCV in 63 and 64,the Y block was done in 62 for the cars and the 62 292 from a 62 galaxie I picked up for my 55 has a road draft tube but it comes out of the valley pan behind the carb and should be the same valley pan as the truck that has the PCV,I looked in my parts manual for the part that bolts to the valley pan for the hose to the PVC but my parts manual is for cars and has nothing about the truck motors. The Lincoln Y blocks were used in the big trucks probably up to 64 too and they do have the PCV and tried to get one off but it was stuck tight to the valley pan and would have destroyed it getting it off so I gave up,I know where a few more 60s big trucks are with the Lincoln motors and will look for that part but you will still need a 62 car and 63 or 64 truck valley pan to attach it to. I might be able to get you a couple valley pans as the one I got the sytem off for my 292 still has the valley pan on the motor and there are more of those years of motors in that yard but I think I got the only PCV part still on a Ford Y block.

Go up to the top of the page, look for search and click on it. In the box that comes up type in PCV and then search. There are a lot of items on PCV's.

Yesh but yours was a 4bbl with a 2bbl adapter plate. Nobody makes A 2bbl pcv plate. I heard they make them for early 80s dodge vams?

My 70 Bronco which has a 302 engine and 2bbl carb has a carb spacer plate with the pcv nipple at the back. For a while I had a carb I took off a 292 yblock on the Bronco with that spacer and with the pcv hooked up. I assume the plate was original equipment, which means Ford must have had it. Should be able to find one in a junk yard if no where else.
