Im working on two cars with y blocks right now, one is a 1956 ford fairlane with a 292 yblock/fordomatic. The other is a 1960 f100 with also a 292 yblock and fordomatic. Im trying to clean up the blocks and i don't want to run the road draft tubes on the side of the block and i dont want any breathers or any holes in the valve covers. Can't i just run a plate under the carb and have that hose run from the plate to a pcv valve on the back of the valley pan? Also the vaccum line from the dizzy would screw into the plate on the carb that the fuel bowl screws to?

If anyone here can post pics of your own pcv setups that would be great. Also how were the pcv setups on 63 and up cars and trucks? Would i need to get a valley cover from one of those later y blocks that had the road draft tube in the back?
