Today I am finishing up getting the 312 with new heads, cam shaft, etc. ready to go back in the Tbird. I filled the crankcase with Joe Gibbs Break-in oil. New Motorcraft FL1A filter. I spun the oil pump with a drill and have oil coming from all the rockers on both heads. Now I can turn the pump with a 1/4" drive extension and ratchet by hand and get oil from all the rockers. The rocker shafts have been modified (oiling holes on the shaft are slightly slotted) and the return holes have been plugged per Mummert's instructions. Seems like that is a lot of oil pressure just turning the oil pump by hand. Is this too much oil to the upper end or am I over thinking it?
