What manifold did you use? You can gain more clearance by removing the distriburer and replacinging it at a different angle. This will mean retiming the engine but is do-able. Essentially the dizzy can perform at any angle provided it has clearance.

I recently put together a 292 for my F-100, only to realize that the tri-power manifold is longer at the back, and now the vacum advance housing on the distributor hits, so I can't get the timing set, So I was wondering can you interchange vacum advance diaphragms on different years of distributors?  Any ideas at all would be appreciated.
