Bought a set of Ford skirts for my 56.There are none on now.Got a bracket set with them.Does anyone have a pic of where the brackets locate and which way does the "flat" bracket face? There is a raised area in the middle.Does it go against the body or turned over so the raised area is not against the wheel well lip?Any other tips appreciated.

Mark,if you got your skirts and brackets from the same place I did,and I think most of the skirts sold by vendors are from the same manufacturer, unless they've made some changes in the manufacturing process of the brackets,You will have modify the brackets.I bought 2 sets a few years ago and had to modify both sets of brackets to get them to fit the cars.I made the vendor aware of the problem and maybe by now it's been corrected.

I'm not savvy enough to post pictures on here.If you don't get pictures from someone,I'll try to catch up with a Grand-daughter in a couple of days and have her send you some pictures.

Mark hope these pics help. Guess you have to be careful as you dont want the 'hooks" to far down, you need them in such a place when you hook the "handle bar" on it has a bit of tension on it when it hooks up an over the lip of the skirt. The front arm just goes into the hook, you bring the rear up into position , it will hang down a little till you get the the "handle bar" over the hook and as you bring it up it lifts the last bit of the skirt and thats where the little bit of tension is and then hook it [the handle bar]over the lip of the skirt...locked.. done! These are pics from right side only. Would really help if you had it on a hoist and with wheels off.

Thanks Rob.My problem is the front bracket. The "base"is too long which is maybe what Paul is talking about. My buddys 56 has an extra bend in that bracket so it fits between the lip and that piece that meets the rocker panel in front of the wheel opening. Is that the bracket you had to modify Paul and what did you do?Just to be sure I am using the correct bracket in the right place-the flat bracket is for the rear of the skirt?Correct? Thanks!

Just looking at Macs and Dennis Carpenter. The brackets they sell have the extra bend in them which is what mine dont have.Paul-what did you do to make yours fit if they were like the ones I have now?

Mark..........I'll take a look after I get home from work tomorrow. It's been 6 or 7 years since I put these brackets on the car,so obviously my old brain has completely forgotten what I did to make them work.I do remember that the template that came with the brackets was useless.

Mark.............Without removing them from the car,I can't be sure, but it looks as if I welded a little piece of metal to them to move the bracket toward the canter of the car. This was done to both brackets.I hope this makes sense to you.
