I ended up getting the pulley/balancer off of the old motor along with the motor mount. Now I need to get it on the new motor. Is this the correct tool? If so how the hell do I use it with all the little tools?

That is it. Make sure it has an adapter with the right threads for a Y. I think it's a 9/16 fine thread. It should have instructions but it is pretty straight forward. The adapter threads into the crank, the long stud screws into the adapter then the bearing and the nut.

Also how far in does it need to be on the crank shaft?

They have been done with a board and hammer many times. Sometimes ok, sometimes the damper rubber ring gets jarred and loosend then you are back where you started. You don't have to buy an installer you can make one using threaded rod. and old bearing and a proper size nut. Put the damper on as far as it will go without hammering, thread the rod into the end of the crankshaft, put the bearing on against the dampner then the nut. Screw the nut in and watch the damper pull itself into place. Once you are close you  can put the original washer and crank bolt back in and use that to seat the damper. DONE! No big expense for a tool set that includes a lot of adapters you dont need. My $.05 worth. Chuck

No the motor is going into a truck So I will be needing it.

I am working on a 56 ford 2 dr sedan...Well I think my user name gave that away. It has the 292 y block/fordo with original front fradle mount along with the side mounts and the trans mount. I think I will run the front just for the security.

The harmonic balancer needs to be pulled up tight. It snugs up against a lip on the crank and secures the crankshaft slinger. The harmonic balancer's torque specification for all Y-block engines is the same at between 85 and 90 feet per pound of torque.
