56 ford custom (3/10/2012) There were no instructions. Where does the nut and bearing go?The bearing goes against the damper. the nut goes against the bearing and is tightened to push the damper on. Thanks! I will hopefully get the balancer on the mptor later today along with the front cradle mount.

The harmonic balancer needs to be pulled up tight. It snugs up against a lip on the crank and secures the crankshaft slinger. The harmonic balancer's torque specification for all Y-block engines is the same at between 85 and 90 feet per pound of torque.

No the motor is going into a truck So I will be needing it. I am working on a 56 ford 2 dr sedan...Well I think my user name gave that away. It has the 292 y block/fordo with original front fradle mount along with the side mounts and the trans mount. I think I will run the front just for the security.

And thats another good option! Free tools always help. Is this engine going into a truck or car? If its going into a car you can toss the front mount. Ford got rid of it too. Chuck
