I've often wished to have a smaller diameter HEI (studded) type distributor cap that would easily swap onto my homemade electronic ignition. The conventional cap (old points ignition) would run the outfit OK - but I already had the female wire connectors and didn't want to buy another set of spark plug wires to change it out. A friend told me that a later-seventies IHC Scout 304 cap might work (photo below) - has anyone else tried this out? If so which P/N would be the best choice?

I looked at the NAPA site (cap ECH AL 162) and they list the distributor type as a "Prestolite" - must be similar in diameter to the Autolite.
