I'm assembling my 292 Y-block and am to the point where I need to install the oil pan but my car was missing the nut that holds the oil pickup assembly to the oil pan. I have tried both 7/8"-14 and 7/8"-9 jam nuts from the hardware store and the fine thread one will finger-tight about 1 full turn but then gets really tight. I gently tried to tighten it further and there was resistance so I backed it off and found that the edges of the threads were rubbing to the point it would cross-thread if I cranked down on it. Any ideas of where I can source a new nut? Thanks, Chris Pond '57 Thunderbird Restoration Website
