I recently picked up a really nice 1-owner 59 Galaxie 500 Fordor Town Sedan. It was a Georgia car it's whole life until a few years ago. The car's in great shape except for the engine, it has a pronounced knock deep inside. Valvetrain is getting oil and does not seem to be the source. The knock changes sound when the engine is revved slightly- gets worse sounding.I plan on pulling the motor and attacking the bottom end 1st. I do not want to do a complete tear-down rebuild right now. Can I just do main and rod bearings if they prove to be the source? The motor has 81k miles. Any thoughts? Dave
