A billet flywheel is available from Mummert.  It's a nice piece.

Paul, thanks for that...I suspected that, when I looked at the bolt pattern on the flywheel I have.  It looked like there was an awful lot of real estate left on the surface.  Thanks, I may have mine drilled for the naturally aspirated 292, and find a steel one for the hairdried version....

The flywheels are the same outside diameter, just drilled differently. You could use a 10 inch and redrill it. When I did my stick conversion, this is what I found out. Had both a 10 and 11 inch - the ring gear was toast on the 11, took off the ring gear on the ten and put it on the 11.

The turbo motor is on still in process..in fact, Glen still has the block and crank..lol.  I have another 292 I want to put in the car to get it running around, though.  Which brings me back to the turbo 292, is there a steel flywheel that will work out there?  Will a zero balance smallblock wheel work?  Didnt know for sure about the bolt pattern, I can try one I guess.  If the Quicktime bell will work with a modern starter, thats the way I want to go, probably a gear reduction type, like a Tilton or similar.

I guess the flywheel I have is good for a standard, 4V with G heads.  It wont burn down the house, but it will get me mobile anyway.  This flywheel only has 44K on it, no cracks, bluing, orither flaws.  I will it surfaced, and either replace or have the stock clutch rebuilt...Biltrite is the bomb....

Trucks, police cars, taxis, and T-Birds used 11" clutch, so flyweels are out there.  I may have one.  I would be concerned about running a stock iron wheel with your turbo 292 though.

I don't belive there is a difference between the flywheels, in that department. There should be plenty of options for an 11" clutch for a car. Trucks are a different story because of the input spline.

I need to know if there is a bigger manual flywheel than a 10 or 10.5 inch unit?  I would prefer an 11 inch, but is the capability to contain it there?  Will the new Quicktime bellhousings hold an 11 inch or am I stuck with the smaller flywheels?  If I am to use a 10.5, I will probably use a Spec or something similar with sintered iron facing.  Not concerned so much with chatter as I am with grip and performance. 

By the way, I just picked up a 292 to stab in while I build the turbo 292.  That's why I need the flywheel info now, gonna run it with a toploader 4 gear.   Hopefully, I will be picking up the 292 block and crank from Glen on the way back from Spring Swap in Columbus.  Can't wait to get started on that one...
