PF Arcand (1/2/2009) 61- If the engine isn't running or the vendor won't let you see inside the crankcase, assume it needs a total rebuild & pay accordingly. It's a 50 year old engine! For sure. $100 max for a core engine, unless there is something you know for sure makes its value a little more. Less if it has been sitting outside for years.

Well supposedly the motor was running when it was taken out but I'll be looking it over very well beforehand and be making an offer accordingly. Marv: I'm in Edmonton Alberta. -38 tonight.....BURRRR. Just beware. The worst engine I ever tore down "was running when it was taken out". Two broken rods, totalled crank, and broken cam. Even with the mess I came out OK. It was a bitch getting apart. But dont let it deter you. This is the sort of thing I find fun .

I sold a pair of rams horns at the Lethbridge swapmeet last year, my only set.

No Rancheros or two door sedans I know about.

Y'sGuy61 (1/3/2009) Thanks Marv, come springtime, there may be a few things I'll be looking for. Ramhorns being one.Howdy, I bought a nice set of (new) Rams Horns from John Mummert. I then took them to a place in Auburn Wa and had them ceramic coated inside and out. Far better than getting a used, possibly cracked, rusty set.... Cheers, Rick This is what's going in my 55 F-600

Rick, Nice Rams Horns, but what a transmission! You have told me about it many times but I had no reference. The crossmember for support would have to be relocated. What is the distance from the front mount to the rear, out of curiosity. Mike
