Hi Mike,

I haven't done any measuring for where the rear trans mount will go. I am going to delete the front mount and build side mounts for the engine.

I'll take the original cross piece from the F450 the trans came out of and modify it to use in mine.

I also have to shorten my front drive shaft a little......somewhere around 18-24"

I did find a complete power steering setup from a 60 F-600. So automatic trans and power steering for this old F-600 will make it a pretty nice drive!!

Rick, Nice Rams Horns, but what a transmission!  You have told me about it many times but I had no reference.  The crossmember for support would have to be relocated.  What is the distance from the front mount to the rear, out of curiosity.

Thanks Marv, come springtime, there may be a few things I'll be looking for. Ramhorns being one.

Howdy,

I bought a nice set of (new) Rams Horns from John Mummert. I then took them to a place in Auburn Wa and had them ceramic coated inside and out.

Far better than getting a used, possibly cracked, rusty set....

Cheers,

Rick

I sold a pair of rams horns at the Lethbridge swapmeet last year, my only set.

Barry;

No Rancheros or two door sedans I know about.

Cold here to in Med hat. Big difference than a month ago when temps were plus 14C, More snow than Saskatchewan also.

If you need some y block stuff ask as there is still some around here as there are quite a few 55/56 cars in the city

CrazyWell supposedly the motor was running when it was taken out but I'll be looking it over very well beforehand and be making an offer accordingly.

Just beware.  The worst engine I ever tore down "was running when it was taken out".  Two broken rods, totalled crank, and broken cam.  Even with the mess I came out OK.  It was a bitch getting apart.  But dont let it deter you.  This is the sort of thing I find fun Hehe.
