There's a 292 motor with a 4 sp. trans @ pto out of a 3 ton truck in one of the online papers here. I have a 61 F100 with a 292 in it and was wondering what the difference is between them. I know He mentioned that his 292 has the 4 bolt mains, but says the motor is essentially the same. Can parts be swapped between the two. How do the motors differ in performance? Since the motor in my F100 is rebuilt, I'm only interested in parts down the road if I need them and if they will fit. But if my motor packed it in, would I have the option of swapping this one in? Just curious.
